+++ Nicholas Negroponte visits INTRACOM HOLDINGS +++

Digital pioneer updated on the Group's research programs during his visit to INTRACOM headquarters in Paeania

Nicholas Negroponte, renowned professor and co-founder of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab, visited the INTRACOM Group installations in Paeania on May 12, where he was updated on the Group's research programs and business activities. During his visit, the digital pioneer, who is of Greek origin, presented the $100 laptop, a revolutionary project he has been developing that will become instrumental to spread technology to the world's poor and bridge the digital divide in years to come.

During his visit Mr. Negroponte said "I'm pleased to visit INTRACOM again. It is a Group that has managed to combine successfully the development of systems and the promotion of innovative technologies in the international market, with the vision of advanced research and academic activity. It is a pleasure to discuss my goals and to exchange views with leading Greek researchers and engineers about the technological developments of the next decade."

During the last five years the Group has participated in more than 120 international research programs and was the only Greek enterprise on the list of the 300 biggest European companies with the highest investments in Researc and Development (EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboards).
